So here we find ourselves again - facing another lockdown and the inevitable closure of all of our venues. For how long, we can’t be sure, but one thing we do know is that if we could get through the first one, we can get through this.
Whilst the announcement that England would go into another month’s lockdown as of Thursday 5th November was hardly unexpected, the speed at which things needed to happen certainly was. But this time it feels like we’re ready for it.
The hard work we’d done through the first lockdown - setting up our online delivery service Hyde at Home, getting our heads round the furlough system, and figuring out how best to close multiple venues with very little notice, have all put us in good stead. Yes, it’s heartbreaking to have to close our venues with so much uncertainty as to when we’ll be able to reopen, but we’re hopeful for the future, and we’ve got plenty of ways for you to get your Hyde & co fix through lockdown…
Hyde at Home
We launched our online delivery service, Hyde at Home, three weeks into the first lockdown, and we were totally bowled over by the support you all showed us. For almost four months we kept ourselves busy delivering pre-made bottled cocktails, wine, beer, spirits kits and cook-at-home-steak and Sunday roasts from The Ox to you fine folk of Bristol.
This time round we’re doing exactly the same, and we’ve already been amazed at how many orders are already coming in. You can order online here and choose your delivery date and we’ll fulfil all of your steak and cocktail needs over the next few weeks - delivered direct to your door.
Four Wise Monkeys Click & Collect
We opened the latest addition to our family, Four Wise Monkeys, in our old Pata Negra site on the 2nd October. So whilst it’s a real shame to be closing down almost as soon as we’ve opened, you can’t shake us off that easily! We’ve set up a new online ordering system, allowing you to click and collect directly from the restaurant. We’ve included as much of our menu as possible, including food and drinks, so all you need to do is order and pay online, pick your collection slot, and then come and grab it from the venue.
Seven Lucky Gods Click & Collect
Through Lockdown version one, one of the biggest demands we had was for a takeaway option from our Wapping Wharf restaurant, Seven Lucky Gods. At the time there was so much uncertainty that it proved difficult to do, but this time round we’re ready for you. Just like Four Wise Monkeys you’ll be able to order your takeaway online, then drop by and collect it.
The next few weeks are going to be difficult for us all, and as we all know the hospitality industry has borne the brunt of a lot of the tough times this year. If you can, please support your locals - be it restaurants, grocery stores or delivery services. Bristol’s always been a fiercely independent city and we believe that’s part of what makes it so special - let’s keep it that way and keep helping each other out through this, and with a little luck we’ll see each other on the other side.
