The Hyde & Co Manifesto

As I write this we’ve just received the news from the government that as of Saturday 4th July we’ll be able to re-open our venues, almost three months to the day from when we last closed the doors on them. Whilst we’d been anticipating the news for some time, it was an announcement that was met with trepidation, anticipation and quite honestly, a whole load of mixed feelings.

Whilst we’re undoubtedly thrilled to be able to reopen the businesses we’ve worked so hard to build over the past ten years, there’s no doubt we’re now facing the biggest challenge ever to face us as a company. We’ve overcome many challenges along the way, from the financial crisis to major roadworks on our doorstep, changing dining habits & growing incredibly fast to name but a few! The pandemic, and subsequent lockdown have given us all the time to take stock, reassess and really think about our values and how we want to live our lives when lock down is over. We’re incredibly proud to have gained a position as one of the most well-known independent groups within Bristol’s incredible food scene, but we’re under no illusions that we wouldn’t have earned that without the trust, loyalty and support of our customers, and with such an uncertain path ahead of us it’s more important than ever to maintain that trust.

Our restaurant manifesto is our way of showing not only our customers, but our team, that we’re going to be doing everything we can to keep them safe, make them feel comfortable and keep that trust as we all navigate post-lockdown life. We’ve spent a huge amount of time working on this to make sure it supports us as business, but also ensures that the health, wellbeing and safety of everyone who visits our venues is top priority. By sharing this with you we hope that you’ll be able to understand the thought, effort and time which has gone into this, but that we’ll be able to put your minds at ease that we’re doing everything in our power to protect you whilst bringing everyone some much-needed enjoyment after what’s been a tough time for us all.
